I’m sure if you’re reading this you most likely want to get fitter in one way or another, whether that’s stronger, faster, more endurance, better cardio, or simply just healthier on the inside. So what if you could fast track that in a healthy and sustainable way? Well here’s 5 ways that will give you the best chance of doing that.
1. Focus on quality over quantity
Quality should always come before quantity, 5 perfect reps beats 10 crappy ones every day of the week, just as a meal full of nutrient dense whole foods is more beneficial compared to processed junk.
2. Drink more water
Dehydration can be the cause of poor performance, poor sleep, bad skin, low energy levels, mood swings, slower recovery, hunger, and that’s just to name a few. Whatever amount you currently drink each day, increase it 🙂
3. Train with a friend
Training with a friend is a great way to burn more calories and really push yourself (and your training partner) beyond your usual limits. Everyone loves a bit of competition, not to mention it’s a great way to keep yourself accountable even on the days when you don’ t feel like training or pushing yourself.
4. Set specific goals
Your goals should be specific, there needs to be a time frame and they should be measurable. Saying you want to ‘get fitter’ doesn’t cut it, decide on a specific goal that you can focus on and small goals to achieve along the way, once you tick it off, set a bigger and better one!
5. Stop striving for perfection and start focusing on consistency
No one is perfect, by purely focusing on making sure everything is perfect you’ll often be left disappointed or discouraged, instead focus on small efforts performed consistently well every single day. A great month is better than a perfect week.
